Dog Treats are one of the easiest things to make and bake. Plus, homemade treats save lots of $$$. I decided to make some with Pumpkin because my dog Charley has had a little bit of an upset tummy lately and Pumpkin is a great source of fiber and nutrients. This recipe produces about 3 dozen treats. To keep them fresh, store them in a cool place.
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees
Ingredients:
- 1 Egg
- 1 large spoonful of Pure Pumpkin
-
1 spoon Peanut Butter
-
1 1/2 cup Old-Fashioned Oats
-
1 cup Flour
-
1/2 of a Carrot (diced into small pieces)
-
1 tbs Bacon Grease
Mix the Egg, Pumpkin, Peanut Oats and Flour in a bowl. In a small skillet, cook the Carrot in Bacon Grease for 5 minutes then add it to the batter.
This batch was just dropped onto a cookie sheet. I was not feeling like using a cookie cutter and I don’t think dogs care what their treat looks like.
If you do decide to roll out this dough, add about another 1/4 cup of flour and chill it in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Bake the treats for 6-8 minutes.
