My dog loves coconut oil! The best part is, it’s good for her. Earlier this year I started reading up on coconut oil and it’s benefits. I have used it in lotions, sugar scrubs and baths. Lately I have also been using it for cooking (blog posts will be updated with this switch for sure!). This summer I started feeding it to Charley, my dog. She gets about 1 tablespoon 3 times a week. (I started with 1/2 tablespoon and kept making the portion bigger) It’s a big treat for her. I smash it into her food and she digs into her bowl.
Her eyes have been less watery and she has been scratching a lot less. I think her coat feels softer too.
She doesn’t seem to be sneezing as much either. I asked her vet about feeding it to her and she told me that it’s a great idea and that it helps both inside and out. Only feed them unrefined virgin coconut oil. This is free of chemicals and has the most nutrient value.
