My favorite craft lately is making hair-clips. The big problem I run into is finding places to put them so they don’t get crushed or damaged. I was inspired by this post I saw on Pinterest. Is it sad that I had a plain cork board, beautiful fabric and various ribbon just sitting on my craft shelves? This stuff was just waiting to be used.
After cutting the fabric to the the shape I wanted (roughly 2 inches larger on all sides), I pinned the corners and edges on the front side of the board, to keep the material in place. Then I used a hot glue gun to affix the material to the cork board. I measured out 3 strips of ribbon (for the hair clips) and glued them to the back of the board as well. For the bottom earring holder I simply used floral wire and push pins. The same type of floral wire is used to make it hang.
This was a fairly easy DIY project for me and it was great using materials that were just “taking up space.” Pinterest is very helpful in inspiring me to do projects again.
