Why don’t real snowmen look this cute? I was inspired by a Pinterest pin and painted a wine glass to use as a candle holder. You can find single wine glasses (and martini glasses) at the Dollar Tree. I cleaned the glass first with soap and water then cleaned it again with rubbing alcohol. This helps the paint stick. I used acrylic paint (see link below for specifics) and started with 3 layers of white for the head then painted the face on. This project has a lot of “wait time.” I had to wait until each layer of paint was dry before I could move to the next one. 24 hours after the final paint coat was dry, I finished the project with 2 light coats of polyurethane semi-gloss varnish.
For fun I put a battery operated tea light (also purchased at the Dollar Tree) under the glass. It is bright enough for a night light, but I prefer it to be used as a candle holder.
