Crockpot Turkey-success on the first try!

Crockpot turkey and stuffing was an easy recipe that I concocted from various recipe and blog posts.  I wish I had steamed green beans with it, just to add some healthy component to the meal. Oh well, you only live once!Ingredients: 1 small turkey breast (I used a 3.5lb frozen Butterball and put it in the fridge to thaw a bit the night before)
1.5 cups Stuffing Mix (generic Stove Top)
4 pieces of white bread toast with the crust taken off (to add bulk) and chopped into small pieces
3/4 cup HOT water
1 stick of Butter
1 tsp Lawrys Seasoning Salt
1tsp Garlic Pepper
1tsp Poultry Seasoning

  1. Mix the stuffing mix, water, half of the butter (cut into pieces) and the toast in the crock pot.   Sprinkle a dash of Poultry seasoning (dash was more like a couple swoops across the top).
  2. Put the remaining butter into the microwave for 10 seconds. This is just long enough to make it soft to rub all over the turkey breast.
  3. Mix the seasonings (Lawrys, Garlic Pepper and Poultry Seasoning) together in a small bowl.
  4. Rub the butter all over the turkey breast and sprinkle the seasonings on it.
  5. Place turkey on top of stuffing and set the crock pot to low.
  6. Cook for 7-9 hours.
  7. Resist the urge to open the lid and mess with it. DON’T TOUCH IT!
  8. Check the temperature of the turkey. Target temp is 180.
  9. Remove turkey from crockpot and set aside to cool.
The stuffing was watery, so I moved it to a shallow pan and baked it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes.
