I usually use cooking spray when baking, but sometimes I have to go the alternative way and grease the pan with Crisco aka vegetable shortening. If you are like me, you hate getting your hands dirty…or greasy. Plus it takes a lot of soap to get the Crisco out of your skin and nails. Using a tool like a spatula can be messy too.
If you are in a pinch to use Crisco, put your hand in a sandwich baggy and dip it into the container. This makes it easier to have an even spread on the pan and you don’t have to scrub any dishes later.
