Stove Top Popcorn

Popcorn ingredients

I have been making stove top popcorn for a few years now (you can see my other recipe HERE).  A few months ago I tried it with coconut oil instead of vegetable oil and WOW!  It is soooo delicious.  I have also found that using Ladyfinger Gourmet Popping Corn
kernels is the way to go for a better hull-free bowl.  In other words, I don’t need my floss after I snack on some. The only ingredients needed for this recipe is:  3 tbs Pure Coconut Oil and 1/3 cup popcorn.

Melt the oil on the stove top and place 4 kernels in it. Put burner on "Medium" heat.
Melt the oil on the stove top and place 4 kernels in it. Put burner on “Medium” heat. Make sure to use at least a 3 qt pot with lid.  I used a 1.5L Corning vintage saucepan here.
Once those first 4 kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn and place the lid on.
Once those first 4 kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn and place the lid ajar so some steam escapes.  Carefully shake the pot over the burner (still at medium heat).Continue until the kernels stop popping and/or you run out of room. You may view my video of this step HERE on Youtube.
Pour the popped corn into a large bowl and share! Sometimes I add a dash of popcorn salt or a dash of Parmesan Cheese. But this popcorn is really good just plain.
