Strawberry Soda Cupcakes

Today’s experiment was with a box of strawberry cake mix, 8oz of strawberry soda (room temperature), and  some sprinkles.
Result=12 yummy cupcakes.
The sprinkles were added as an extra to create a funfetti effect.  
The batter was really thick, and really yummy. I filled the cups about 3/4 full and baked them for 17 minutes at 350 degrees.  
The cupcakes are extra moist and really flavorful. They are also very dense compared to regular cupcakes.  I added a few drops of red food coloring to the frosting to make it pink and dress it up a bit.  I do plan on making my cream cheese frosting and posting the recipe, but just haven’t gotten around to it. I bet the cream cheese would really make these over the top.
