All Purpose Shower/Tub Cleaner

I finally tried the magically-make-it-yourself-soap-scum-killer-cleaner and have to admit, it did a fantastic job.  Food.com has the same homemade cleaner recipe as a post, but of course I changed it up a bit.  I didn’t want to use more Dawn than necessary.

Directions:

Warm up 1/2 cup of White Vinegar in the microwave for 40 seconds. Don’t get it too hot, because it will melt your spray bottle.

Add 1/3 cup of the BLUE Dawn Dish Soap and shake.

Generously spray the mixture on the shower, tub, and bathroom fixtures. Let it sit for at least 2 hours. The cleaner will mostly stay on the walls without dripping all the way to the floor.  Your house will smell like vinegar while you wait.

Wet a towel and scrub the areas. (Sorry, this does take some elbow grease).

Rinse with water and then enjoy the sparkly shower/tub.

Sorry there are no before and after pics. If you haven’t noticed, I don’t take the best pictures…and after trying to capture some “good” shots of the lime buildup and soap scum in the shower, I realized how odd and unwanted they would be anyway. Plus, I didn’t have too much of a problem, just some little issues that the generic CLR at Dollar Tree didn’t clean.

***I no longer use this recipe!  I have found it to work great, but it’s a hassle to make sometimes and too much Dawn down the drain can cause issues with plumbing.  Mr Clean Magic Erasers are amazing to use for soap scum.  Try those instead! As per the directions on the box 😉  ***
