Melted Bead Bowl and Ornaments

Thanks to Pinterest, I had to try this project. The perler beads (I call them melty beads) are usually just used with templates and melted with an iron. Melting them in the oven was so much more fun and has endless possibilities that I want to try next.

The materials used to make the Melted Bead Bowl are simple: cooking spray aka Pam, melty beads and cookware that is the shape you want to use. For this project I used a muffin pan.
The beads were place in a single layer (as shown above) and baked in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
After the 20 minutes, the beads looked like this and I let them cool for a few minutes before I peeled them out of the pan (which was really easy thanks to the cooking spray).

I learned a very valuable lesson: applying cooking spray is key to this project being a success. I tried making ornaments with the melty beads by using cookie cutters laid on a sprayed cookie sheet. Melty beads were placed in a single layer inside the cookie cutters.
