This is an easy (but can be messy) kid craft for Christmas. The materials needed are: red ball ornaments, yellow and black paint (preferably acryllic), glue (Elmers works great), and some Christmas ribbon. Mini sized red ball ornaments are pictured above.
Paint a black stripe around the middle of the ornament. Let it dry (depending on the type of paint, this could take 5-10 minutes). On one side paint a yellow square. Most ornament packages can be turned upside down and you can rest the ornament on it while it dries. If this is not available, try just hanging the ornament on something to prevent it from rolling around. When paint is thoroughly dry, it is done! Tie a ribbon on the top or glue on a bow to add a bit more to the ornament.
